Dodital is an emerald lake nestled amidst high mountains at an altitude of 3310 mts above sea level. With its serene setting and tranquil environs, Dodital is arguably one of the most beautiful high- altitude lakes of North India. The serene surroundings of the lake not only give you mesmerizing views, but you can also have some birding experience. You may be lucky to spot some of the birds like Brown-fronted Woodpecker, Grey Tit, Red-billed Blue Magpie, Grey Shrike, Pink Finch, Himalayan Whistling Thrush, or the Himalayan Monal as you trek through the forest patches. Enjoy the beautiful trails that take you through the forest parches of Rhododendrons, oak, deodars and pine trees.
Dodital lake famous in the area amongst the locals as Ganesh ka tal is considered to be a sacred place – the birthplace of Lord Ganesh. You would find a Ganpati temple on the banks of this pristine lake nestled in the lap of this mountain range.
Darwa top, which is at 1000m altitude from Dodital gives you mesmerizing views of the snow capped peaks of Bandarpoonch, Draupadikadanda, and Black peak. The uphill hike from Dodital to Darwatop can be a challenging stretch with an altitude gain in a short span of distance and time.

Itinerary
Day 1: Travel Dehradun to Agora village and trek to Bebra

A beautiful drive amidst mountains from Dehradun towards Agoda village offers you scenic views, you get to see the massive Tehri dam and also view of the Aasi Ganga river as you get nearer to your destination. Enroute, you stop for lunch and reach the quaint village Agoda after a round 7-8 hours of drive. This is where you start your trek to Bebra - its about 2 km stretch that might take upto 2-3 hrs to reach your destination for the day, Bebra.
Day 2: Trek to Dodital

After relishing your morning breakfast you gear up to start your second day of trek to Dodital. The initial ascent is a mix of forest land high above the Assi Ganga river. You pass the gujjar settlements on the way. Take a lunch break on the way before you continue your trek through the rhododendron and pine forests. You would also encounter snow on your path which can be thrilling as well as adventurous before you reach your campsite next to the serene lake Dodital. Spend the rest of the day soaking in the beauty of the lake and its equally mesmerising surroundings.
Day 3: Trek to Darwa top summit and back to Dodital

You start your day early with an early breakfast and your summit climb to Darwatop summit. The initial part of the trail is through meadows dotted with snow patches which later turns into a steep long trail before you reach the top. Enjoy the vista of the Himalayan ranges from the top clicking away to glory capturing these moments. Then its time to start back to your campsite at Dodital and retire for the night.
Day 4: Trek to Bebra

Wake up amidst the mountains and after a sumptuous breakfast its time to head back. A fairly easy train all downhill, enjoy your trek through the forest patch to reach Bebra. Spend the rest of your day exploring around.
Day 5: Trek to Agora village and drive to Dehradun
